The MICHELIN Wild Race’R Ultimate is the new tire for cross-country racing. During the development phase, engineers focused on delivering superior dry-terrain performance. The tire’s strengths include its low weight, speed, grip and puncture- resistance. In size 26×2.10, the tubeless-ready version of the tire weighs only 415 grams. This exceptionally low weight is obtained without sacrificing the tire’s ability to withstand punctures. Top-three World Cup finishes by bikers Fabien Canal and Fanny Bourdon attest to the tire’s outstanding performance levels.
The tread design of the Wild Race’R Ultimate is based on that of the Wild Race’R. While the crown is the same as that used on the Wild Race’R, the shoulders have been reworked to deliver exceptional rider output while maintaining lateral traction that is progressively responsive and sufficient for pure cross-country use. The tire features a round profile that provides comfort and consistent grip.
For the Advanced portion of the range, a new generation of rubber compounds has been developed, called GUM-X SERIES.
GUM-X SERIES is the most recent MICHELIN mountain bike compound. It integrates all the latest technologies to satisfy the expectations of the most demanding mountain bikers. GUM-X SERIES offers the best balance between grip, rolling resistance and longevity. GUM-X SERIES compounds are available in a variety of Shore hardness levels.
The tire has already scored a number of wins in 4X World Cup competition with bikers Anneke Beerten and Celine Gros.
